ABOUT US
Organisation of Special Needs Education (OSNET) is a non-profit organization involved in the improvement of quality and inclusive education for all groups in Tanzania. It was registered in 2014 in accordance with the laws of the country.
Our Vission
A society where everyone, regardless of abilities or disabilities, has equal access to quality education, full community participation, and independent skills, seamlessly integrating as valued members.
Our Mission
To empower individuals with special needs and disabilities by providing quality, accessible, and inclusive education, fostering independence, and cultivating essential life skills for a brighter and more inclusive future.
Our Objectives
To stimulate development of early diagnosis and intervention programs
Increase community awareness and acceptance of the unique problems of persons with learning disabilities and their families
To empower persons with disabilities in academic development with necessary skills and knowledge for independent living and advance their fully participation in their community
To engage in an array of ongoing collaborative activities that support the organisation`s work on behalf of individuals with learning disabilities
Providing and promoting the use of supportive services that address the specific needs of individuals while continually improving the quality and effectiveness of services
To educate youth and women with disabilities on the opportunities surrounding them and promote self-employment among them through vocational training, entrepreneurship skills, sports and culture development
To Advance parents understanding and responsibility of their children with learning disabilities
To promote inclusive practices in line with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
To identify new developing issues that impact on the issues on the lives of disabled children, young people and their families
To fight HIV/AIDs to disadvantaged groups (albinos, mantle retarded, deaf and blinds etc.) which is more vulnerable group than other groups of disabilities
Advocating for, and educating others about the needs and concerns of persons with disabilities
To create a strong unity for all individuals and teachers who teaches special needs education in all schools with OSNET membership, that will help to overcome the obstacles that hinders the students with disabilities in their academic development within and outside the school.
